Six Tricks To Learn When Cooking Barbecue

You might be an expert when it comes to cooking barbecue. However, you might still be doing things wrong in the kitchen or out on the grill.

Cooking barbecue doesn't have to be so difficult and it doesn't have to be too tedious as well when you are preparing the different foods you are about to serve. But with a few simple tips ad tricks in mind, you won't have to worry about spoiling what you are cooking. On top of that, you will also save yourself a lot of time with the preparation and technique. Here are a few tricks that you can keep in mind the next time you are having a barbecue party at your house.

• Start with a clean grill – If you don't want your meat tasting like the fish that you grilled the week before, then make sure that you wash and oil up your grill. Make sure to wash off everything that is stuck on the grill. Then brush some vegetable oil onto the grill so that your meat will not stick onto it as it cooks.

This is probably the best tip that you should keep in mind so that you always serve up the best barbecue to your family or guests.

• Use fresh coal – Have you ever had barbecue that had a little ash stuck onto it? Chances are that you didn't clean out the last batch of coal that you used the last time that you grilled. To make sure that this doesn't happen, always make sure that you have a fresh batch of coal to burn when you are cooking anything on your grill.

• Pre-heat – You can't cook your meat any better if it's not on a hot grill. Pre-heating your grill 15 to 30 minutes ahead of cooking schedule will give you a better result when you toss the meat onto the grill.

Gradual heat will only leave you with something that tastes half-cooked and sometimes even burnt on the outside. So while you are preparing all your ingredients, make sure to start the grill fire first.

• Cook hard – This means that you should cook each side of the steak that you have on the grill aggressively. By pushing down the meat on a very hot grill you can cook each side only once. This means that you don't have to keep turning or flipping the meat while you are cooking it. This will save you a lot of cooking time and you can serve your guests in jiffy.

• Use tomatoes – Don't like an over-browned piece of meat? What you can do is make a tomato paste or use tomato sauce that is sweet. You can add this paste onto the meat in the last 20 minutes of your grilling, depending on how much meat you have.

• High heat, less time – When cooking with high heat, make sure that you don't go over 10 minutes or else you will be burning your meat instead of cooking it. Make sure that you know what temperature you have on your grill before proceeding to cook so that you can time the cooking itself.
