Four Types Of Meat You Can Grill

Barbecuing is a great pastime and if you haven't held a barbecue at your house, then it's high time that you threw that party. Barbecuing is actually a very easy thing to do and everyone loves a great party. Not only will you be able to mingle with your neighbors and friends; you will also get to hone your cooking skills and have everyone appreciate the flavors that you present to them.

So, thinking of what you will barbecue for the first time? Or just wondering what type of meat you should serve the next time you throw a barbecue? Here are some meats to help you out.

• Beef – You can never go wrong with beef. Everyone loves a nice thick and juicy steak and if it's fresh off the grill, it's like a slice of heaven. Of course, you can't just get any kind of beef. Make sure that you are getting the right cut and the right kind of beef for your barbecue. You don't want to end up with something that is too difficult to cook or a meat that is hard to chew on after it's cooked.

Some favorites include rib eye and filet mignon. This kind of beef should be bought in thicknesses of about an inch and if you really want to bring out the flavor, consider using some spices and seasoning as a marinade.

• Chicken or duck – Another barbecue favorite is anything from the poultry side of the animal kingdom. Chicken is just something that is easy to cook or grill and its soft meat is always a favorite in the family or among friends.

The great thing about chickens, ducks or turkeys is that they have different cuts that guests can choose from. They can enjoy the wings, legs, breasts or thighs. And all you have to do is make sure that you marinated it correctly. They cook fast and because the meat is so light, there is always room for more.

• Pork – Of course, if you are a pork-chop kind of person, then pork it is all around. Pork barbecue is probably the most common of all barbecued food. It is also the easiest thing to have on the grill. However, when choosing pork, make sure that you choose the tender parts or the ribs.

Remember that great plate of baby back ribs you had at your favorite restaurant? You can cook that yourself and add your own sauces or marinades.

• Fish – Yes, you can even barbecue fish. Of course, technically it's not like the other types of meat and can be quit messy to prepare. All you need is to clean out the fish's insides. Then you can stuff it with vegetables and then wrap it in foil.

The foil helps to distribute the heat evenly throughout the fish so that everything is cooked properly. It is also mainly there to keep the fish together so that you don't make a mess. A fish in foil is something that your friends will definitely learn to appreciate because of the great aromas it creates.
